Disrespectful Tone

Tolerance of snarky tones or biting sarcasm in meetings can degrade an otherwise healthy or emotionally safe culture. That’s not to say that there isn’t room for playfulness and edge, but make sure the tone is respectful and doesn’t take a dark turn. Again, culture rises and falls based upon what is tolerated. Create an environment in which everyone feels safe to express their opinions while also ensuring that those opinions are expressed with respect for the other people present. It sounds obvious and easy, but it’s not, especially when hurt feelings are involved.
